About Bimala Shrestha

Bimala Shrestha is a 30-year-old woman who was born in the shadow of the majestic Himalayas, surrounded by the towering peaks of Mount Everest and other 8000-meter peaks. Growing up in this awe-inspiring landscape, Bimala developed a love for the outdoors and adventure at a young age.
Bimala attended school in the mountain town of Lukla until she completed high school. She then went on to pursue her studies in Kathmandu. After completing her education, Bimala was drawn to the tourism industry, and she decided to pursue a career as a guide. She received her training from the Nepal Mountain Academy and began working in the field as a support guide.
Bimala is an avid traveler and enjoys meeting new people. In her free time, she can be found exploring the mountains on foot, trekking and trail running. Her passion for the outdoors and her desire to share the beauty of her homeland with others led her to join her uncle's trekking and travel agency, Precious Adventures Pvt. Ltd. Under the guidance of her uncle, Gita Bahadur Shrestha, Bimala learned the ins and outs of the industry and has now become a main female guide for trekking groups in the Himalayas. She believes in the principle of "learning by doing" and continues to gain experience by leading treks and sharing her knowledge of the culture, history and the natural beauty of her homeland to the trekkers.

First Aid Training: As a guide, Bimala likely received training in basic first aid techniques, such as how to respond to injuries and illnesses that may occur while on a trek. This training would have included information on how to administer first aid, how to recognize the signs of altitude sickness, and how to respond to emergencies.

Geographical knowledge: Bimala's training would have included a thorough understanding of the geography of the area in which she will be guiding treks. This would include information on the different types of terrain, the altitude, and the climate

Map reading: Bimala would have received training on how to read topographical maps, which would have included information on how to use a compass, how to identify different features on a map, and how to navigate using a map.

Wall climbing: Bimala may have received training in basic climbing techniques and safety, which would have included information on how to use climbing equipment, how to tie knots, and how to belay a climbing partner.

Seeing Gokyo and Mount Everest for the first time, Bimala likely spent a lot of time in the mountains, but the first time she laid eyes on the iconic peaks of Gokyo and Mount Everest would have been a truly awe-inspiring moment for her.
