Bimala Shrestha is a 30-year-old woman who was born in the shadow of the majestic Himalayas, surrounded by the towering peaks of Mount Everest and other 8000-meter peaks. Growing up in this awe-inspiring landscape, Bimala developed a love for the outdoors and adventure at a young age.
Bimala attended school in the mountain town of Lukla until she completed high school. She then went on to pursue her studies in Kathmandu. After completing her education, Bimala was drawn to the tourism industry, and she decided to pursue a career as a guide. She received her training from the Nepal Mountain Academy and began working in the field as a support guide.
Bimala is an avid traveler and enjoys meeting new people. In her free time, she can be found exploring the mountains on foot, trekking and trail running. Her passion for the outdoors and her desire to share the beauty of her homeland with others led her to join her uncle's trekking and travel agency, Precious Adventures Pvt. Ltd. Under the guidance of her uncle, Gita Bahadur Shrestha, Bimala learned the ins and outs of the industry and has now become a main female guide for trekking groups in the Himalayas. She believes in the principle of "learning by doing" and continues to gain experience by leading treks and sharing her knowledge of the culture, history and the natural beauty of her homeland to the trekkers.
