Vajrayogini Day Tour

Sakhu, an ancient city near Kathmandu, is our next destination. It was once the home of the Lichhavi kingdom, and the famous wooden palace of Mandev was believed to be built here. Sakhu is renowned for its rich Newari culture, traditions, and festivals celebrated by the local Newar community.

Join me on a special hiking adventure, where we'll explore the significance of Vajrayogini, a revered female deity in Buddhism and Hinduism. She holds great importance in the Tantric tradition.

Located just 17 kilometers away from Kathmandu, Sankhu is an ancient town with a significant presence of the Swyambhunath temple. This town is also considered a sacred place where the 84 Mahasiddhas, revered spiritual practitioners, meditated and resided. There are several caves around the temple complex, including one that is believed to have been Nagarjuna's cave.  

During our hike, we'll visit the Vajrayogini Temple, the Swyambunath Temple, and a Meditation Cave. These places hold deep religious significance, especially for the Tibetan people. It's a dream come true for them to visit these sites.

Walking through the narrow streets of this ancient city is an intriguing experience. We'll also have the chance to enjoy the natural surroundings near the city as we hike and explore. And don't miss the unique experience of traveling by local bus to Sakhu, adding a touch of authenticity to our adventure.
